Its been two years since I updated my LJ. That is INSANE. Seriosly. I have a GJ (www.greatestjournal.com/~happypirate) and use that mostly. But hey, I was in the nieghborhood and thought Id drop by and say hello. Those are some good pictures of Johnny Depp huh? The man is hot. He may hide beneath long stringy hair, funny clothes and weird glasses but he cant fool us! We're wise to him and know that underneath ALL of that, there is a very handsome man. Well thats about it for now. Ill check back here before too long. Pirates, as always, still rock!

So as promised, heres another post, but not as soon as I said. Oh well Ive been busy. Anyway, I give you....The Sexiest Man Alive..... J O H N N Y D E P P !!!!!!!
Check this out...
and this...
Ok two really funny JD stories. So last week, I went to see Pirates again with my friends. My mom and I had been outside raking leaves and then I left to go to the movies. Our next door neighbor came out and said to my mom (who was still raking) "Why is your daughter leaving? She should be helping you with the leaves." And my mom says, jokingly, "Oh she has a date with Johnny Depp." And then neighbor looked sort of surprised and said "THE Johnny Depp?" lol My mom goes "Uh no, shes going to see Pirates of the Caribbean." Dude I so wish I had a date with JD...yeah he flew in from France just to see me lol
Then today I was telling my friend about it over the phone. After I got off my mom asked who it was was. I told her Carissa. And I thought she said "Its always Carissa" (She really said "Oh its Carissa") and I said, "Other people call me. Nikki calls me" cuz Nik was there. And my mom goes "Johnny calls you. From France, collect." lol I told her Id pay that price ANY day. Anyway, who doesnt like thinking about Johnny and joking that you know him etc....I wish!
Anyway, thats about it for this update...Im coming for you Liz.

Anyway, it's been forever since I posted anything worth reading, or maybe that never happened lol. But not much has been going on. I actually don't have time to update properly at the mo, but I'll be back in a few hours to do so. And Liz, watch out, it's coming your way!!!!
~Christi~
So its been forever since Ive posted here. Been super busy. Anyway I have a favor to ask of you (well those of you that I havent asked yet). So my friend sent me this list, I love these kinds of lists. This one was really long so I'm only going to post the ones that were my favorites. And it all depends on when you were born. If you were born in the late 70s to very early 80s, you'll totally get this.
You know you grew up in the 80s if...
* You owned those little Strawberry Shortcake pals scented dolls * Three words: M.C. Hammer * You can sing the entire theme song to "Duck Tales" * You ever watched Fraggle Rock * You had plastic streamers on the handle bars of your bike * You remember When it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons * You saw the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the big screen * You made your mom buy you one of those clips that would hold your shirt in a knot on the side * You had a Kirk Cameron poster on your bedroom wall * You played the game "Mash" with friends at school * Your mother wouldn't let you have garbage pail kids * You wanted to change your name to Jem in Kindergarten * You remember reading "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" and all the Ramona books * You know the profound meaning of "Wax on,Wax off" * You wanted to be a Goonie * You took Lunch pales to school * You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the ONLY female smurf * You remember the craze, and then banning of slap bracelets * You still get the urge to use "NOT" at the end of every statement you make * You remember Hypercolor T-shirts * Barbie and the Rockers was your favorite band * You remember Punky Brewster * You thought Sheera and He-Man should hook up * You ever owned a pair of Jelly Shoes * After you saw Pee-Wee's Big Adventure you couldn't stop saying "I know you are but what am I?" * You ever got seriously injured on a slip and slide * You have played with a 'skip-it' * You had a Glow Worm or watched the cartoons * You remember Popples * You wore like 8 pairs of socks at once, scrunched down * You know what it meant to say "care bear stare!!" and you had a favorite * You remember Vicky the Robot * You remember Eve Garland from Out of this World and how she could stop time by pressing the tips of her index fingers together and talking to her dad through a glowing cube in her bedroom * You remember the beggining of New Kids on the Block
**You remember when Belle and Sebastian was a cartoon and not a band [Thats my own personal addition]
Anyway..I know its a long list but some of those are just classic. It took me back man. Enjoy!
Guess what? They started filming "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" on October 6!! I just found out today and saw some pictures from the movie! I am so incredibly excited right now. Bridget and mark together again! Colin Firth looks SO cute! And Renee looks awesome. I mean she IS Bridget Jones. The first movie and the books have just become this anthem for me. I can't explain it. I just really identify with Bridget and she's just so great. I cannot tell you how much I'm looking forward to the next movie! YAY!

OK so I've been looking around online today, at apartments in New York City. I found one on the Upper West Side (woohoo!) that was a studio with 1 bathroom. $950/month. Yeah and then I looked at pictures and it was so yucky! This is the Upper West Side people, whats up?? I mean I know its not the Dakota or anything but honestly! So the cheapest apartment I saw was like $750/month and that was like in Inwood. Even Brooklyn is as expensive and Manhattan. The most expensive in my price range was like $1,050/month. We will see what happens. I mean the price of living is so high there that you would think that the pay would be better too. I havent checked into that yet.
I actually applied for a few jobs yesterday. The problem usually isn't finding jobs to apply for, its getting them to call you back. It just depends. I'm going to look for a book, a good book, about NYC and living there etc. I've decided that as much research as I can do, the better off I'll be once I get there.
So I was talking today to my sister-in-law, Gillian, about her wedding etc. The thing is, my brother's wedding was so grand, so beautiful, so enjoyable, ao amazing....that I'm not sure if Ill be able to top it. I mean I know its not a competition or anything but I just know people are going to say (about mine) "It was a nice wedding. Beautfil eve. But it just didnt compare to Clay and Gillian's." Grrr...I better marry someone fantastically rich so I get get married in New York City at the Plaza Hotel or the Four Seasons or somewhere amazing. Everyone keeps saying "Oh Christi, have you wedding at the Broadmoor" (thats the ritzy hotle in Colorado that my brother married at) and I just keep saying "No way. I gotta be different, I have to do something different."
I mean I dont want to go into it, but that wedding was one of the hardest things Ive ever had to live through. And I learned a lot from that experience. I mean, I probably wont get married for a while but since I was thinking about it today, I just thought I'd post and vent.
Enough, this entry is long enough. Adios.
~Christi~
So, two different people, in the last two days have told me Im independent. I guess Ive never really thought of myself that way. Honestly, I just never thought about it. It was strange and somehow, I think its true. I mean I guess Id have to be an independant person to want to move to NYC all by myself right? Although its an incredibly scary thought, I absolutely have to do it. I know I will. Im just waiting for a job to open up. If one doesnt by January, Im going to go out there for a month or two to try and find one. Everyone keeps telling me that I just need to move out there and look for one. I didnt even seriously consider it at first. But all kinds of people keep saying it. I have these visions in my head, of me, in the city, walking down the street and not knowing a single soul. Its a scary thought. But I kind of like it.
When my mom proposed that she would go out there with me for a month, I was like "Really? The whole month?" And for some reason, even though it would be nice to have a familiar face there, Id rather go it alone. I just want to pound the pavement, to really get a feel for the city. To go to museums and art galleries and local concerts in coffee houses. To hang out in the Village and walk Central Park. I guess that really answers my question as to whether or not Im independant huh?
I think its pretty cool because I never thought of myself in that way. Im going to start reading up on the city, saving my money, getting contacts etc. We shall see what happens.

"When autumn comes It doesn't ask It just walks in where it left you last You never know when it starts Until there's fog inside the glass around your summer heart"
These lyrics express my feelings exactly. One moment its hot, so hot the heat is almost unbearable. You need the AC on all the time and you wear the coolest clothes possible. The next moment, theres this crisp bite to the air and you're suddenly wearing pants. The leaves slowly turn golden, then firey red, then brown, until at last, their time is up and you're crunching them under your feet as you walk along. The nights and mornings are cool, almost cold and the days are no longer as hot as before. It all happened so quickly, almost overnight.
And miracle of miracles, it rained here all day yesterday and even this morning. It never rains here. We get an unheard of number of sunshine days a year, something like 320 days. Me? I love the rain, the clouds, the thunder and lightening. Its so rare here. Which is fine with most people, it's part of the reason they move here, for the "mild" weather.
The fall season puts me in a baking mood. I made some yummy soup the last night, and I just know that soon I'm going to be wanting to bake cookies galore. Plus, its become a family tradition to make tamales at Christmas. Its a Spanish (or New Mexican, not sure which) tradition we adopted. We didnt get to make them last year, due to a small fact that my brother's wedding was January 3. That was the worst Christmas ever I think.
Anyway, I guess this was my "Welcome To Fall" post or something. It blows my mind that I've been out of college for five months already. Seriously, what the heck? It's gone by super fast.
~Christi~
Guess what all? OK this is SO unbelieveably cool. You all know how IM a HUGE Queer Eye for the Straight Guy fan. Well if you have ever seen it, you know Jai Rodriguez, the culture expert. Admittedly, hes not one of my faves but hes still cool. I just found out that he played the role of Angel in RENT when I saw it for the first time on Broadway in March of 2002!!! Im so totally excited! What are the odds people?!? Seriously. And I remember thinking to myself that they guy that played Angel was really small and tiny and how weird it must be to be surrounded by other guys bigger than you. Im sure he doesnt mind though. Anyway, blows my mind how small this world really is. Yay for RENT. And I know I mentioned something about Anthony writing a note the other day but seriously, I have been an Anthony Rapp fan for a loooong time and it just made my whole year when he wrote back! Heres what he said...
"Hi Christi --
Thanks for your kind words. I appreciate your support. I don't know if I'll ever be in RENT again, as I'm starting to get a little old for the role... But you never know.
I'm sure that we'll do some sort of special event for the 10- year anniversary, though, in 2006.
Take care, and thanks again --
Anthony"
Can you believe it? Anthony Rapp. The things his friends say about him on the testimonials are SO AMAZING. He has got to be one of the greatest people ever. OK I know Im totally gushing but Im just so excited!! OK I gotta go to bed now.

So I'm back from California. Man, what a long week. We had SO much fun though. First of all, I have to say that my friend's husband is horrible! He's just childish, selfish, manipulative, controlling, and horrible! I never want to spend more than a few minutes with him ever again! I only tolerate him because I know that if push came to shove, she would choose him, and rightly so. So thats what I have to deal with.
Anyway, Disneyland was great! We went there for three days and California Adventure for two. I could have done with just one day there, and three at Disney. I rode Pirates of the Caribbean five times! lol And my new second favorite ride, Indiana Jones, four times. We rode just about everything that was open. Big Thunder (RIP) is still closed after the accident a couple months ago. Which was sad cuz I love that ride. Space Mountain will be closed until 2005 when they re-introduce it for the 50th anniversary. They said theyre completely rebuilding the inside (same track though0 to make it just like it was in '77 when it opened. Splash Mountain was closed as well, fine by me, Im not a fan of huge drops lol Not that its even that big, but I think Im getting braver.
Carissa and I wore these little tiaras around a couple fo days and Disney employees would always bow or say "I didnt know royalty was going to be here today" or "Hold on to your crowns Princesses!" lol One guy, when he saw us, threw off his hat, literally fell on the floor and started bowing down to us. LMAO it was awesome! From now on, Im wearing a crown! (At least when Im in DL).
Saturday was Gay Day and I even though we didnt wear red, Carissa and I were mistaken for a couple more than once, I know. We were both wearing black shirts and matching tiaras (not a plan I tell you!) and we were by ourselves or with two of her girls a lot of the time. We joked about it, wondered who out sperm donor was and such. David Crosby lol Nah I came up with Conan O'Brien because Madeline has red hair and both girls have freckles lol
Whew, but Im so glad to be home. I missed not being able to check up on my enteretainment news and email and such. Oh and guess what? I found Anthony Rapp on friendster and wrote him a note and he wrote back! I love Anthony! He will always be Mark to me (All you RENT fans know what Im talking about)...I was an amazing thing to get a note from someone I admire and love. Yay for Anthony! Oh and John wrote me a small note back too...yay for Johnny! lol
Sheesh I guess that be it mateys! Properly warned ye be. No fear have ye of evil curses, says I...oh sorry, I rode POTC so many times I started to memorize the dialogue.

Hi all,
Just wanted to say I'll be out of town for a week, so this is my last entry before I leave. I'm still on a John Mayer high, after the message he actually replied to!! It's so him, there's not doubt in my mind. All the peices add up. How corny am I, getting all excited about a simple message that was like three sentences long? But you know what? He responded so I'm happy of course. OK enough of this...
I'm off to Pirates of the Caribbean! I'll be sure and have fun for y'all while Im there ok? Um I cant think of anything else to write so Im just gonna close it out. Ill miss you all! Dont forget me lol

I just have to say that a lot of the people at www.mystupidmouth.com are really mean. Its a John Mayer message board and as typical message boards go, it kinda sucks. People jumped all over me because of a word choice! Can you believe it? Theyre totally harsh. I dont think Ill go back there much, just to read messages from John. Now WIDF is a great message board where no one would ever get slammed for using a certain word in their post title. Sheesh people lighten up, my choice of words is hardly the issue at hand and should not be!!!! Freakin pissing me off!
Christi
So I got Simon and Garfunkel tickets! I am so completely excited! My mom, dad, and I are going to see them in Denver at the end of October. When I watched the Grammys earlier this year, I was just blown away by them. I grew up listening to oldies (Buddy Holly, the Beatles, Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel) and I had always appreciated them. But when I saw them perform it was like something happened. I just think they have the best harmonies and when you listen to their songs about New York City, they take you there. Anyway, my dad is a fan and so is my mom so it'll be a family concert outing. I wouldnt want to see them with anyone other than my dad.
What else? Leaving for California in a few days, on Sunday. Taking a trip up there with my best friend and her family and my lil sis. Should be fun, Disneyland and California Adventure all week. Pirate here I come!! Another chance for me to buy MORE pirate stuff lol My pirate flag collection is now up to two, I need to figure out where to put them.
Once again, last night was another classic of Queer Eye. Plus, we watched Say Anything... Carissa hadnt seen it in years and I had watched it for the first time last week. As I said before, Im in some sort of John Cusack fix. All John Cusack, all the time. Wait, actually its more like All John Mayer, all the time, sprinkled with John Cusack. lol
Oh so I actually got to watch MTV this morning (when they actually play music videos! *gasp*) and I was able to see a few great videos I hadnt seen before. The Ataris "Boys Of Summer", Dashboard Confessional "Hands Down" which was a freakin cool video, and hard to explain so I wont. And my favorite of all, which I had been dying to see John Mayer "Bigger Than My Body"....great video! He is just the coolest guy I will probably never know! Ok, further proof of his greatness. Read and be amazed, from an interview not too long ago...
John, what, in your opinion, is the best movie quote of all movie quotes? "'Its our time down here. Up there its their time. Down here its Our time. And thats all over once we ride up on Troys bucket.' Young Sean Austin, Goonies, Circa 1985."
When I read that, that was it. Any guy who picks his favorite movie quote of all time from The Goonies is...wow. Words cannot explain lol
~Christi~
Sometimes, ok most of the time, songs express what I'm feeling better than I can explain myself. There's no situation that cannot be explained or explored within the confines of some very well written lyrics. Just a taste of how I'm feeling at the moment...
I'm not alone I wish I was Cause then I'd know I was down because I couldn't find a friend around To love me like they do right now They do right now
I'm dizzy from the shopping mall I searched for the joy but i bought it all It doesn't help the hunger pain And a thirst I'd have to drown first to ever satiate
Something's missing And I dont know how to fix it Something's missing And I dont know what it is At all
When autumn comes It doesn't ask It just walks in where it left you last You never know when it starts Until there is fog inside the glass around Your summer heart
Something's missing And I dont know hot to fix it Somethings missing And I dont know what it is At all
I cant be sure that this state of mind Is not of my own design I wish there was an over the counter test for lonliness like this
Something's missing And I dont know what it is Something's missing And I dont know what it is No I dont know what it is Somethings different And I dont know what it is No I dont know what it is.

So Im gonna be out of town for a couple of days. Just thought I'd let you all know, like you care lol. Um hey but I got some cute new user pics, go me! Plus I finally wrote a letter of closure to "the boy." Thank goodness its all over. I couldn't take the wondering anymore. I mean Im totally fine now, which is good but the waiting for him to just send a frickin email was getting to be too much. Just call a spade a spade ya know? It's over so why continue to pretend its not? Sheesh, I need an older guy. One who will be more, mature ya think? It's so hard to find good guys. And why is it when you do, they're not accessable? Sucks.
SO that turned into a long explanation I wasnt planning on making. The whole point was to say I'd be back on Monday lol. SO yeah, there ya go. Oh and remember, tomorrow is talk like a pirate day! Go to talklikeapirate.com. (Im too lazy to remember how to add links lol)
Take care loves,
~Christi~
No way. Liz just told me that Joey McIntyre got married! Im so sad! lol Not like I was going to marry him or anything, well ok I would have but, yeah. You know you're getting old when the youngest memeber of New Kids On The Block gets married. I always loved Joe best. Donnie second. Those were the days huh? Makes me want to go watch my Hangin Tough video. Maybe I will. Um, after I watch some more John Mayer. "I loved you, gray sweatpants, no makeup, so perfect." Sorry, little JM Comfortable lyric right there. I love that line. Ok so this was pointless but its an LJ what do you expect?

So not much has been going on lately. Just been listening to the new John Mayer 24/7...and watching the DVD "Any Given Thursday" of course (thats Johnny's live show dvd) . First I watched it all the way through. Then I watched the soundcheck, the photo gallery, and the morning after interview. Then I showed my friend Carissa parts of the concert. Then I watched it all the way through again, this time with John's commentary. Then this morning Carissa and I started watching the commentary. It's out of control people! I can't stop listening to John Mayer! Is this bad? Nah, I don't think so. A person needs a good hobby every now and again.
Oh another thing. I've been going through this John Cusack phase lately as well. It all started when I got the Sixteen Candles dvd. Then I watched America's Sweethearts, then High Fidelity (which I love btw...Nick Hornby, of course I'm gonna love it). Then he was on Conan and then last night I bought Seredipity and Carissa and I watched The Sure Thing (he's so adorable in it!) and we rented Say Anything but didnt get a chance to watch it. It's all good, I'll watch Serendipity tonight.
This is my life since graduating college. Sleeping late (a good thing), working in the afternoons, hanging out with Carissa (a lot!) and inevitably, every Tuesday night, watching Queer Eye For The Straight Guy. We love this show. It's so great. Plus I have crushes on Kyan and Thom...incredibly sad really. They're such great guys and they're gay. Aint it always the way? OK not like Id ever have a chance with either one if they werent gay, but still you know what I mean.
Dude, Carissa and I are such geeks! You should see us watching our little tv shows and award shows and etc. We check imdb.com everyday for the latest entertainment news. We listen to and talk about John Mayer all the time (ok ok so I talk about him all the time...all roads lead to John :), we watch our movies and make our jokes. You would be lost within five minutes of spending time with us. Hmm that is probably not a good thing lol
Anyway, hey you guys don't mind if I gush about Johnny do you? Skip this part if you do. OK here goes...he's got this amazing sense of humor, he's witty, intelligent, geeky (in a good, sweet way), an amazing artist, sensitive, thoughtful, etc, etc, etc! OK now I feel foolish for typing all those things. I dont even know the guy and probably never will. It's just a nice thought.
OK Im seriously out of here for now. This is waaay too long for a journal entry!
